Hiking at Lake Tradition

"Are we going skiing now?" asked five year old Outdoors for All Participant Lucas Dolliver.

"Not today, Lucas," said his dad, Keith Dolliver. "Today, we're going hiking."

While waiting for more snow to fall in the mountains, Outdoors for All decided to make "lemonade out of lemons" and offered a fun hike at Lake Tradition near Issaquah. Lucas and Keith joined a group of other Outdoors for All participants, volunteers, family members and staff for the fun hike on Saturday, February 12.

Before heading out on the three mile hike, everyone joined in for an impromptu "snow dance" for more snow in the mountains to allow for the return of downhill skiing and snowboarding. Giggles and smiles were shared by all during and after the dance.

"It's sure been a frustrating winter this year in the Pacific Northwest--but even without much snow in the mountains it sure is great getting out and remaining active thanks to Outdoors for All," said Participant Valerie Cronquist. "This was fun, but I can't wait for skiing!"

Neither can we, Valerie! Keep the faith, everyone! See you on the snow soon!

More rain still didn't dampen the spirits of the hikers-- it simply meant more snow in the mountains!
