What prompted you to become involved in the STP with the Outdoors for All Team: Her brother and his Fiancé rode with Outdoors for All a few years back, and she’s done half century rides when she lived in Nebraska. She thought it would be a fun challenge to do STP so she joined the Outdoors for All Team!
How have you trained for the Seattle to Portland bike ride? She’s been riding her bike 3-4 times a week since February, anywhere from 15-40 miles each ride.

What is your favorite part about participating in the Seattle to Portland Bike Ride: Favorite part about STP would have to be the enjoyment of meeting new folks along the way, as well as riding with old friends. A close second is soaking up the wonderful surroundings of the Pacific Northwest in the summer time- something that he misses after having moved to Texas a few years ago.
How do you train for the Seattle to Portland bike ride? His training consists primarily of commuting to work and back each day, which is ~ 30 miles round trip, in addition to some longer rides on the weekends.

What prompted you to become involved in the STP with the Outdoors for All Team: He’s been involved with Outdoors for All for many years, volunteering time to help our computers and contributing to our great fundraising events. He wanted to become more involved with other volunteers and participants and get a deeper sense of the Outdoors for All mission and riding the STP is a great opportunity to do that.
How have you trained for the Seattle to Portland bike ride? He’s been long rides on the weekends, anywhere from 60 to 80 miles on Saturdays and Sundays as well as shorter, faster rides during the week.

What is your favorite part about participating in the Seattle to Portland Bike Ride: The people, the energy, seeing himself and others doing something that they once though was nearly impossible. The beer after the finish is awesome too!
How do you train for the Seattle to Portland bike ride? Bikes to work during the week a few times and does longer hilly rides on weekends. |
